OSHA Heat Standard Action Alerts

Health professionals and organizations have a vital role to play in protecting communities from the impacts of extreme heat and are encouraged to share their support for the swift finalization and implementation of OSHA’s heat standard.

 

Individual health professionals: Submit a comment through December 30th using this action alert.

 

Health organizations: Join us in signing on to this letter to OSHA asking it to finalize and implement a strong version of its heat standard swiftly.

Climate Health Equity Day 2025: Our Patients, Our Planet, Our Future

Medical Students for a Sustainable Future will host its annual conference on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in collaboration with the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health. This event will give health students an opportunity to build community, connect with leaders, present research, and engage in impactful discussions around climate and health.

Call for Submissions: Images Highlighting the Health Implications of Climate Change

 

For “Earth Month” (April 2025), the New England Journal of Medicine Images in Clinical Medicine section will feature images sharing the clinical health impacts of the climate crisis. We invite image submissions that capture the clinical manifestations of climate change. Examples might include – but are not limited to — radiographic images of the effects of smoke inhalation from wildfire exposure, images related to climate-sensitive vector- or water-borne diseases, or images showing the pathophysiologic effects of extreme heat exposure.
